Kelvin Akparanta 'aka' Kelvinkul or as his Instagram handle will read "Bigbrokelvin" is a popular Brand Strategist, Media personality, Forex Executive, producer and music entrepreneur.
Born in Portharcourt but grew up in Calabar, Cross River State, Kelvinkul has been lucky to have worked with some great industry mentors who helped guide him along on the journey and so far so good, it hasn't been all rosy or easy but he is loving every part of the journey till date. He is the founder and managing partner at Box411.
Kelvinkul specializes in nurturing, branding and managing budding talents. He is also an Amateur Model and has modelled for Urban TV, Tecno Mobile and African Magic Ultimate Love advert series. Particularly, he is a music and entertainment lover and for years he has been a music critic and promoter.
Being asked of his perception of the Nigerian Entertainment industry today? Kelvinkul says, “it has become even more diverse in recent times. With the advent of digital streaming and Marketing it has been growing and crossing over progressively. It’s a really exciting time to be involved in the entertainment industry".
According to him, “I always listened to Paradise Fm radio just to know the current hit songs and know the artistes or band that sang it. After secondary school, while pursuing admission to higher institution, I used to hang out with a friends who were music inclined".
He always had lyrics of songs cut out from magazines or will listen to the songs and write them down and at one point fancied himself as a rapper/artiste, this led him to record and release some couple of songs back in secondary school.
His desire to see the return of a well descriptive and richly outlined book on Digital Marketing and Branding led him to write a book for young entrepreneurs and professionals. The book, which deals with the fundamentals of digital marketing and personal branding will be published anytime soon in 2020.
Kelvinkul has handled accounts and branding of brands spanning the construction, Radio, fashion, TV, entertainment, education, and hospitality industries. Kelvin AKparanta is the brain behind #Wakeupcalabar, "a social emancipation initiative anchored on the philosophy that when individuals rise, their communities will rise and ultimately the entire entertainment industry in his city of residence will rise".
The movement is targeted at creating a gingering spirit of Calabar based entertainers in becoming strong, formidable, and positive brands that will take over the entertainment world from their base. #Wakeupcalabar made its debut as a series of articles published on facebook over a period of time. Kelvin Akparanta is a public speaker, commentator and role model.
He has graced public functions where he gave lectures on branding and digital marketing. His commentaries have been cited by authors and made as reference points in socio-economic discourses.
The multi-talented artist in April 2015 won the Best Music Blog of the year with his nascent brand, Box411 which saw him winning the Tweet King on Cool Fm Lagos consecutively. Kelvin's Box411 worked with the Government of Cross River State through the organisers of Miss Africa Organisation as a media partner in their debut outing." Media Personality of the Year Award, South South People's Awards, is among numerous honors bestowed on him.
Having achieved so much in the entertainment industry, he decided to changed his trademark look when he shaved his dreadlocks for which he had been known for years.
